Jane Austen is a passion of mine. I love her books, movies based on her books and Regency England antiques and products based on Products from that era, here is an collection of some of my favorite Jane Austen items.
Though unlike most of the products I show you I do not know this artist personally, but I love their style of drawing and this is how Mr. Darcy show look.
I have connected with this artist over Media, like squidoo.com and it seems to me that Itaya can do almost anything. She paints, writes, takes fabulous photos and even makes cute little dolls.
This highly disputed painting of Jane Austen is from my own shop. It came from the collection of a Mr. Rice was was a relation to Jane Austen, he was always told this painting was of Jane Austen and he believed to the end that it was her. I think it is too. If you see the other paintings and drawings of her you can see the same rounded face, dark eyes and slightly larger nose.
The artist is a close friend of mine. We have another blog together called askazombiehousewife. She modeled this computer art after this painting and my own version of this painting, that is in my store. I highly respect what she does, because I don't understand how she does it.
Once in awhile I google Jane Austen images and I was very pleased to see what I found the last time if you plug in Jane Austen Rice painting in instead of Jane Austen's rice Portrait, my own images like this drawing are everywhere. I was extremely surprised.
I do what I call cute and creepy art based on the style of Tim Burton and Edward Gorey. This was based on that style and on my own art. My sister loves this one better than me first drawing.
